Let’s just get this thing straight, I don’t hate my family or anything. No, I love my parents, and the rest of my family. I just want to leave a hypocritical household that tells me to love everyone because the bible says so, but hate homosexuals because it’s goes against the bible. It also makes me sick when they see homosexual couples together in public, and they snicker and criticize them. They’re just people, showing their affection for someone they love, why can’t they respect that?

Also, if the bible says to love one another, doesn’t that mean we should love EVERYONE despite their sexual preferences or the wrongs they have committed in the past?

It also bugs me that they justify their actions with the bible. First off, the English version of bible isn’t translated word for word. It’s interpreted and rephrased so it can be understood in our language. Unlike many other dialects there aren’t different meanings to one word. Also, (feel free to correct me if you think I’m wrong) the bible doesn’t actually state anything about how homosexuality is a sin, and just so I don’t look like another idiot on tumblr who can’t even justify her argument I’m going to give some examples. I’ve done my research. Have you?

Examples of misquoted passages (Corinthians, Leviticus, and Romans):

• 1 Corinthians: in 1946 the first verse that many believe to be speaking homosexuality was terribly translated as “homosexuals”, though Martin Luther had translated the words as “child molesters” almost 500 years before. Apparently Arsenokoites had taken young boys and turned them into sex slaves.
• In Leviticus there’s a few things I just want to point out before I go to this passage: This was written in Old Hebrew so some of the names given have different meanings, but for the same word.

ish means male.

zakar is also another word for male but is given to someone of priest status.

and let’s not forget about toveah which is used (in the Torah) when talking about taboos that have to do with idolatry, and not sin.

Apparently the Canaanite priests -zakar- attempted to lure Jewish men -ish- into same sex temple prostitution to worship Canaan gods such as Baal,Astarte, etc.

• Then Romans 1: In context, it refers to pagan same-sex temple prostitution also worshiping false gods and idols. There were temples dedicated to Cybele. Greeks and Romans turned away from God to worship her and used idols of women, serpents and lions. 

Male preists castrated themselves, dressed in womens clothing and participated in same-sex prostitution, while women dressed as men, were given dildos and also participated in same-sex prostitution to worship this Goddess. None of this ever mentions anything about faithful Jewish / Christian people falling in love with the same sex.

• Finally, we are a different “era” of humans. We’re not here solely for the sake of expanding the population through reproduction. After the crucifiction of Christ there is basically -in a sense- no difference between men or women so salvation doesn’t depend on our sexuality/gender. GOD IS LOVE, and there is no way he could possibly hate any of his creations.
